Community Engagement

We strongly believe that all students should have equal access to educational opportunities. To support this effort, we have several projects underway through partnerships with with community organizations, foundations, and educational institutions. Current partnerships include Advance Vermont, Community College of Vermont (CCV), the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, Vermont, and ScholarMatch, a San Francisco-based non-profit dedicated to expanding college support, online and in-person, to underserved populations across the US.

In 2021, we partnered with VSAC Corporation to create a “Women Thriving” Leadership Scholarship for diverse women with promising leadership potential. We received over 85 applications for this scholarship, and had the privilege of learning about so many talented young women leading change, showing academic promise, and contributing to their local communities. Our Scholarship Committee was so impressed with the applicants that we rewarded two ‘Women Thriving’ leadership scholarships in 2022 that will be used to offset the cost of tuition during the first year of college attendance. The recipients of the scholarship will be announced in June 2022.

Women Thriving Scholarship

Thrive Educational Advising Group’s leadership scholarship, Women Thriving, focuses on representation and issues of equity access. The scholarship seeks diverse women who have demonstrated leadership potential in their academics, extracurricular activities, or work in the community. Consistent with our mission to mentor, guide, and offer educational assistance, we seek to identify future women leaders who are interested in empowering other young women, improving diversity in leadership, and inspiring positive change in their communities.
